- Alameda Alliance for Health – Assisted this Medi-Cal managed care plan essentially acting as the CIO. Project included assessing their current IT systems, developing a 5 year IT plan, and then leading the implementation of the entire plan over a 2 year period. Accomplishments included the selection of 15 different systems and vendors, negotiating the contracts, and either managing or overseeing the projects.
- LA Care – Led the project for this large Medi-Cal health plan to evaluate options for replacing the core claims system (MHS) using the proprietary Solutions Based Selection© methodology. Two viable vendors were identified within 13 weeks, and we provided assistance during the contract negotiations.
- Community Health Group – Led the project to evaluate options for replacing the core claims system (Diamond) using the proprietary Solutions Based Selection© methodology. Two viable vendors were identified within 12 weeks. We provided quality assurance reviews of the contract negotiation process.
- Partnership Health Plan – Conducted an IT assessment for this Medi-Cal health plans IT department focused primarily on systems, organization and staffing, and IT services including project management.
- Surgery Partners – Led a 4 month selection project of a general accounting system using the proprietary Solutions Based Selection©. The new system was implemented within 6 months.
- Richmond University Medical Center – Led the development of an IT Strategic plan for this stand alone hospital that incorporated three key requirements: tactical system replacements to reduce cost, projects to support the strategic plan, and projects to meet meaningful use requirements of the HITECH act.
- Emory University Medical Center – Assisted the CMIO in developing a plan for Medical Informatics Assessment and Planning at this academic medical center.
- Hospital Sister Health System – Conducted an assessment of this health systems central IT Data Center and evaluated options for expansion.
- Wellstar Health System – Completed several projects for this health system including: two IT Strategic Plan updates (2005 and 2008), and IT Help Desk insourcing design and implementation.
- Dallas Children’s Medical Center – Conducted IT data center assessment, evaluated options, and recommended a strategy which resulted in a new primary and back up data center that saved the organization millions of dollars, and improved the reliability of all IT services. Also supported the development of an IT Strategic Plan.
- Salem Hospital - Conducted a post Implementation review of this organizations EPIC implementation. Report identified 52 unique findings and 12 key recommendations.
- VHA – Conducted an IT Assessment and developed an IT Strategic Plan, and assisted with the implementation of the plan for this group purchasing organization.
- Parkview Health System – Conducted several projects for this health system including: Patient Care performance review of GE Centricity, developed an IT Assessment, conducted an IT Talent Assessment, and developed an IT Strategic Plan
- Cleveland Clinic – Abu Dhabi – Led the IT Strategic planning for a new hospital as part of the overall planning for the design and construction of this Middle East based facility.
- New York University- Conducted an extensive review of this organizations outsourcing contracts, and developed a financial model and plan for this organization to reduce expense and improved reliability.
- Trinity – Conducted a review of IT for five hospitals that had been acquired by Trinity, and made recommendations to integrate services with an accompanying return on investment analysis and benefit analysis.
- Hospital for Special Surgery – Led a project to assess this organizations IT Service Desk as part of readiness for implementing an EMR. Project included leading the evaluation and selection of outsourcing alternatives and negotiating the final contract.
- BayCare Health System – Assisted the CEO of this organization in assessing the current IT organization, reorganizing IT, and leading a turnaround of IT.
- Shands Health System – Assisted the CIO of this organization in assessing the current IT organization, reorganizing IT, and leading a turnaround of IT.
- Denver Children’s Hospital – Led a project to evaluate this organizations data center, identifying future requirements for a new EMR, and evaluating alternatives including new construction. A follow-on project was to conduct IT Disaster Recovery Planning including evaluation of alternatives and recommendations.
- Exempla Health System – Conducted an assessment of Kaiser-Exempla system integration and made recommendations to ensure integrated workflow across the two organizations.
- DeKalb Health System – Conducted several projects for this organization including: IT Assessment, integration planning, IT Strategic plan and acting as Interim Director of IT.
- New York Presbyterian – Led this IT Outsourcing assessment which resulted in the largest IT outsourcing contract for the firm ($220M over 5 years). Was asked to be part of the implementation team during the first year of out sourcing operations.
- Georgetown Hospital System (SC) – Led a HIPAA Assessment identifying key vulnerabilities and making recommendations to minimize risk.
- Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan – Conducted an IT Assessment of this organization resulting in recommendations to improve service and performance.
